The "Remember?" application is where you view your schedule, create occasions and in general spend most of your time using this package. The most straightforward way to start working is to double click on the application icon, but there are other alternatives.

Assuming you followed the standard installation instructions, you should have an item named Remember? in the "apple" menu at the left end of the menu bar. Selecting it is the same as double clicking on the application icon. The Default window set (see: Viewing What's Happening) is usually opened but you can select the User set by holding down the SHIFT key while the application opens.

The pop-up alert window (see: Pop-Up Alerts) has a menu of commands accessible by clicking on its animated icon. One of those commands is Launch Remember?, another way to open the application. It opens the Alert window set if it exists.
when you turn on your computer
You can elect to have the application automatically launched when your Mac starts up (pref: What Happens at Startup • Automatically open) either every time, only when there are important occasions you need to see, or once a day if there are important occasions. The Startup window set is shown, if it exists, when there are important occasions.
A document named Remember? Startup Checks is created in the system Startup Items folder if any automatic launch is chosen. The application actually launches every time the Mac starts up, but immediately Quits if it is not supposed to remain open.
After an automatic open, what's happening windows automatically highlight occasions that are within their advance notification period so you can see what needs your immediate attention.
Remember? Extension
The Remember? Extension file provides pop-up alerts that appear if you select an "alert at" time for an occasion. It must be installed in the system Extensions folder for pop-up alerts to work.You should see one of these icons at the bottom of the screen while your computer starts up:
 
Everything is just great, the extension is installed and pop-up alerts are available.
 
The extension cannot be loaded. The exact reason is given after startup is done.
If you suspect the Extension might be causing system problems, you can prevent it from loading by holding down the command, shift, option keys and the mouse button during startup.
Prompting and the OPTION Key
There are several preferences (pref: General • Are you sure?) that determine whether you will be prompted before performing some serious action such as deleting or closing a window with unsaved changes. Hold down the option key to reverse the normal sense of the associated preference, ask if it would normally not do so or vice versa.
Cease and Desist
Most time consuming operations can be interrupted by pressing the standard Mac cancel key: command-. (period) Dialogs accept it or also the esc key as an alternative to the Cancel button.
